Bicentennial Plaza
522 South 5th Street, Springfield, IL 62701
Historic Sites
To mark Illinois' 200th birthday, the Bicentennial Plaza was developed in 2018 to create a walkway linking the Lincoln Home to the Governor's Mansion and State Capitol.
The Plaza's 16 interpretive panels show places, events and people who lived and worked in Springfield and advanced Lincoln's vision for America as a land of equal opportunity for all. A monument marking the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act welcomes visitors at the Plaza's southwest corner.
